Anti-Bullying Week in November provides a wonderful opportunity to ensure that consultation with children and young people takes place and to celebrate the work they are doing. Local authorities should play a leading role in promoting events for children and young people.

These could include:

  • Conferences / events for children and young people
  • Competitions – e.g. art, poetry, music
  • Drama workshops
  • Song competitions
  • Film competitions

There are a number of excellent examples of good practice from previous years (see case studies).

The Anti-bullying Alliance is the official co-ordination body for anti-bullying week.

Antibullying week 2010 will be held from 15 - 18 November 2010.  The theme this year will be announced as soon as possible after the general election.  The Anti-bullying Alliance will send a resource pack out to schools in mid-September, and this will be available on the anti-bullying website sometime during the first two weeks of September.
