Promoting the Role of Children and Young People

Local authorities need to promote the role of children and young people in helping to prevent bullying and providing support to their peers.

 

There are a variety of roles that they can play including acting as:  

  • Peer supporters / peer mediators
  • Anti-bullying ambassadors
  • Helpline advisors
  • Drop-in advisors
  • Media correspondents

 

They can, with support, develop and produce:

  • Publicity – posters / DVDs
  • Advice leaflets / helpline
  • Anti-bullying websites
