A local authority may decide that the best way to ensure that anti-bullying work is embedded in schools and the wider community, is to provide a bespoke anti-bullying service.

The service could have a number of different roles including:

  • Co-ordinating the anti-bullying strategy across the LA
  • Publishing policies, documents and updates
  • Providing case workers to manage complex cases
  • Providing support to parents and carers
  • Ensuring participation of children and young people
  • Offering a training programme to schools and the wider community
  • Collecting data and measuring improvement
  • Managing a complaints service
