Introduction
Taking a strategic approach to
bullying within local authorities is essential for reducing
the number of children and young people that report experiencing
bullying in schools and the wider community.
To ensure best practice in anti-bullying work, we recommend that
the following mechanisms are put in place:
- Senior Officer responsible for bullying
- Anti-Bullying Officer/ Co-ordinator
- Anti-Bullying Strategy Group
- Young People’s Advisory Group
- Anti-Bullying Forum
- Some local authorities have set up a distinct
anti-bullying service
and appointed officers to take on casework.
